Position Purpose
As a Site Leader, you will be responsible for leading an operations team at our Assembly Distribution Center (ADC) in Redlands, CA.
Your oversight will include bed assembly, order fulfillment/warehousing, maintenance, inventory, returns processing, continuous improvement, and training operations, all within a matrix organization in execution of overall business objectives. ADC operations requires its team members to demonstrate excellent teamwork, collaboration, and the ability to work cross-functionally as business needs dictate; your role will be to support these demonstrations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage ADC Operations team to meet or exceed business objectives and requirements
- Ensure all product standards and schedules meet or exceed customers’ expectations
- Optimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital
- Drive company initiatives to improve the customer experience, productivity and efficiencies
- Lead and develop Managers/Supervisors as they execute Labor Planning, manage workflow, and monitor hourly employees, including overtime reduction efforts
- Development of LEAN initiatives and 5S program to drive continuous improvement performance for all ADC functions
- Report on ADC operations and performance as required (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly by area and by shift)
- Establish annual environmental sustainability objectives and execute action plan to achieve those objectives

People:
- Execute performance management process for team members to include direct focus on employee development and growth
- Establish a High Performing Team environment through focus on Sleep Number core values
- Create management practices to foster employee engagement
- Ensure succession plans are in place for all staff positions
Safety:
- Drive a safety culture, ensure compliance with Sleep Number and regulatory safety policies and guidelines
- Create an environment that drives improvement and eliminates/minimizes Injuries, Recordables and LWD
- Execute plant security procedures to protect Sleep Number’s people, capital, and inventory assets
Quality:
- Align with SN quality metrics and initiatives to achieve 100% First Time Complete (both delivery and quality)
- Champion world-class quality standards and principles
Cost:
- Manage AOP Budget and Forecasts; including planned and unplanned changes
- Meet or exceed ADC productivity metrics (rates, cost per hour, AOP and forecasts)
- Manage daily inventory levels for the operation and overall inventory objectives for the site
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in a Senior Operations Management role, preferably leading manufacturing or logistics in an Oracle environment and/or site management experience
- BA/BS degree in business or engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management or Business)
- MBA and/or MS in Engineering preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing, Fulfillment Operations and Supply Chain principles and practices
- LEAN or Six Sigma expertise desired
- Ability to influence, motivate and guide a diversified group of team members to achieve business objectives and utilize a continuous improvement mindset
- Deep understanding of OSHA / Safety Requirements for manufacturing
- Oracle, SAP or other ERP software expertise
- Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Access)
- Be able to travel (up to 20%) and work weekends and extended hours as needed
