Position Purpose

Serving as a workforce planning consultant, the Workforce Platform Scheduler will understand staffing needs for the retail store organization as well as lead general planning and execution of store workforce functions. This position is a key contributor in the requirements gathering process and optimization of the technology platform leveraged by the retail store leadership for workforce planning and staff scheduling. This includes being a subject matter expert for the Workforce Management tool with a focus on driving home best practices with communication and schedules. The Workforce Platform Scheduler will create templates to be used each month and consult with store leadership as the schedules are built out to assess schedules for accuracy as well as opportunities for optimization and customization. The Workforce Platform Scheduler will also participate in identifying new staffing and scheduling areas of opportunity to test as part of an evolving Sleep Number’s workforce in cooperation with cross-functional partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create schedule templates for stores to build schedules against in partnership with field leader advisory group
  • Create mid/long range store staffing calendar of schedule-specific impacts/needs including sales trend, events, etc
  • Manage analytics and reporting inclusive of schedule changes, schedule vs. actual payroll hours, and other workforce management health criteria
  • Convert schedule data into goaling system (OIC), validating data accuracy/completion
  • Manage workforce management system/tool configurations as required (e.g., labor law rules, hours of operation, access, etc.)
  • Manage IT/Solution provider supporting enhancements and issue management
  • Identify enhancement opportunities for system enhancements
  • Identify opportunities for staffing and scheduling proofs of concept (POCs)

Position Requirements

  • 2-3 years workforce management experience or similar platform management or project management
  • Experience in Workforce Management software optimizing staffing and scheduling efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to sell data driven concepts internally with strong technical knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated proficiency (written and verbal) in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and communicate teams’ progress to business leaders
  • Demonstrated success in learning new systems and ability to identify, troubleshoot, and fix system and other issues on behalf of customer/client
  • Demonstrated work ethic; ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment; effectively manage working under pressure
  • Strong sense of teamwork and commitment to larger organization
  • Proven leadership and problem solving with an in-depth knowledge of the business practices and processes
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

Working Conditions

  • This role is open to a remote worker, otherwise will reside at our Headquarters location in Minneapolis, Minnesota #li-remote
  • Minimal travel (<10%)
  • Flexibility with work schedule which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
