Senior Practitioner, Change Enablement

Overview

As the Senior Practitioner for Change Management for Supply Chain at Sleep Number, you will be a part of a fast-paced environment helping teams solve complex issues and delivering exceptional results. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. You will work to drive faster adoption, higher overall utilization of and proficiency with the changes that impact employees. These improvements will increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of results and outcomes. Through an understanding of Sleep Number’s culture and organization structure, you will provide guidance and support to senior leaders, managers, and executives throughout major transformative projects. You will work closely with the Project Management Office, project managers and sponsors to ensure defined change practices and minimums are integrated into all projects as appropriate. You will be required to quantify the impact a change initiative has on the individuals involved, while simultaneously creating proposed mitigations for the impacts. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Organizational Effectiveness group, establish a structured change methodology for Sleep Number 
  • Applying structured methodologies, lead change management activities 
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders and value-add 
  • Create and utilize tools pointing out vulnerabilities a change can have on an organization 
  • Define activities to support, review, and prioritize change and transition incentives 
  • Develop comprehensive engagement plans/actionable deliverables 
  • Be a change coach to supervisors and managers 
  • Support the design, development, delivery and management of communications. 
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance 
  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics. 
  • Support and provide training 
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress 

Position Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional experience; notably in strategic change management; supply chain industry experience is a plus 
  • Experience implementing change management principles, methodologies and tools, including large-scale organizational change efforts 
  • Preferred experience in communications, organizational effectiveness, and/or learning and development  
  • Program/project management experience required 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Psychology, Education, related field or equivalent experience required 
  • Master’s degree is a preferred 
  • Change management certification or designation desired 
  • Acute business acumen with results orientation to align with business strategy and drive performance 
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences 
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal 
  • Strong interpersonal skills: listening, communicating, influencing 
  • Proven success in building relationships, collaborative efforts and working effectively with others at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to manage projects, with working knowledge of project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle 
  • Resilient, tenacious, and flexible self-starter, comfortable working in ambiguous situations  
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
