Quality Analyst Intern

Our focus is to advance the supply chain’s data driven decisioning and to provide a unique and beneficial learning experience. Our Quality Analyst Intern will conduct focused project work in support of the development of the Sleep Number quality analytics and reporting mechanism. In this position they will provide advanced data analysis and develop conclusions to drive improvements.  The focus will be on cost of quality metrics, data analysis, and field return data. In this role the selected candidate will support the drive for continuous improvement by providing new and advanced analytics to help identify root cause or other areas to investigate further. Additionally, this opportunity will establish processes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality data and reporting.


Quality Data and Reporting Assessment

  • Support data and text analysis and metric tracking for COPQ
  • Identify the key stake-holders quality metrics needs and perform a gap analysis on current data.
  • Assist in identifying a collaborative digital quality tool for use across all sites to support Quality Systems and metric reporting.

Advancement of the analytical tools to uncover new opportunities

  • Utilizing advanced statistical technique to assist in trending and identification of issues. 
  • Setup reporting trending with trigger limits to allow for early identification.
  • Using stake-holder inputs, develop customized analysis to assist with root cause identification.

Quality Business Intelligence (BI) continuous improvement

  • Utilize advanced statistical method to improve actionability of the metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Support implementation of digital quality tools/data governance process to ensure data integrity and on-going tool improvements for efficient performance.
  • Apply project management principals to ensure timely and cost-effective implementation and completion of projects.
  • Establish and maintain KPI’s for effectiveness of digital quality system.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to collaboratively work with leaders on scope of work and outcome.   Once established, self-directed to accomplish tasking.
  • Analytical mind-set experienced using problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Handle multiple activities simultaneously and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
  • Experience using R for statistical analysis.
  • SQL and python experience

Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • Currently pursuing a graduate or PhD from an accredited college/university majoring in data science or a related field.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools:  Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Requirement of 3.0 or higher GPA
