Position Purpose

The Planner, New Store Developmentcoordinates architectural process for new store projects creating a flexible workflow to support agility in scheduling, short project cycle time and long-term growth. Planner, New Store Development also aligns stakeholders both internal and external to ensure each projects success. Utilize Microsoft tools to project manage multiple projects at various phases as well as assist is project management of capital store initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate external architecture services for internal and external store design in a multi format environment, review and approve floor plans, exterior renderings, and construction documentation
  • Improve resource flexibility to handle workflow, aggressive scheduling, short turn time
  • Improve communication and project accuracy to reduce change orders and cost
  • Partner with Real Estate to compile and communicate complete LOD information sent to external architect to include LOD,
  • Partner with store planning, construction implementation and real estate to determine initial project schedule
  • Partner with Store Planning Manager to develop design approval process for exterior development pre/post RE approval and recommend design alternatives
  • Manage timelines and communication for capital store projects

Position Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelors of Arts or Science in a related field
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in retail merchandising or prior retail experience preferred
  • Strong project management and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to be flexible and handle multiple projects in an organized and timely manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Team oriented – able to build trust and rapport to work effectively in a cross functional organization

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of retail sales, marketing, and merchandising principles
