Media Planner - Social Media Community Management

Position Purpose: 

The Media Planner – Social Media Community Management leads 1-on-1 online social communication with the consumer and builds expertise at a specific channel level. The Media Planner - Social Media Community Management supports the planning process and proactively identify optimizations for improvement and is responsible for in-platform execution and managing partner relationships at an operational level.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Channel Mastery
    • Build expertise and strategy in Social Media community management and understand how role contributes to the holistic strategic vision for media, as well as how it supports the consumer’s experience with Sleep Number
  • In-Platform
    • Manage Social Media communities, primarily focused on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest
    • Effectively execute tasks in Sprinklr (or community management tool), Curalate, Workfront and Kenshoo
    • Participate and enforce key business enhancements in relation to community management and social listening, driving engagement with Sleep Number’s target audience(s) and customers
  • Planning Tasks
    • Lead the planning process for all Community Management responsibilities and gain alignment from Sr. Planner and Sr. Manager
    • Deliver insights from Social Media community management and listening across all applicable platforms to support quarterly planning
    • Write and execute briefs, work closely with Customer Care, Social Media, Creative and Sr. Planner teams to recommend and collaborate on creative best practices and execution
    • Evaluate and size opportunity within channel and making specific tactical recommendations that consider the plan in its entirety
    • Study demographic data and consumer profiles to identify and engage with desired target audiences, including lifestyles and psychographics
  • Reporting, Analytics, and Insights
    • Actively listen and identify opportunities for Sleep Number to engage with key consumer segments
    • Support Media, Marketing, Sr. Manager and/or leadership in monitoring requested topics on an ongoing basis
  • Optimization
    • Identify and execute opportunities for daily and weekly optimizations
    • Drive test/learn execution
  • Ownership
    • Accountable to consistently and accurately execute and support team
    • Support Sr. Planner and Sr. Manager by executing tasks with agencies and partners as well as collaborate on strategic vision and planning
    • Provide mentorship to Associate Planners (as applicable)
  • Team Dynamics
    • Positively contribute to culture by supporting and engaging with team
    • Engage internal and external cross-channel partners for ongoing training and development
  • Growth/Learning
    • Participate in industry/marketing community, proactively building experience and network; contribute to training and other forums for sharing/teaching

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in English; Spanish-speaking a plus
  • Working knowledge of marketing and/or media
  • Problem solving skills including the ability to identify challenges, evaluate potential solutions for risk/pitfalls, and independently follow-through on implementing process/actions to resolve
  • Creative writing skills including the ability to drive brand voice in a conversational manner
  • Self-organizes, prioritizes work, meets deadlines, and works independently
  • Maintains flexible and handle multiple projects/requests with a controlled sense of urgency.
  • Remains calm under pressure
  • Keen attention to detail and awareness of how your work product impacts others
