Position Purpose  

Administers, processes, and supports company health and welfare benefit and wellness programs. Acts as a liaison between team members, internal partners and vendors on administration of programs and processes.  Enhances employee benefit experience and understanding through, issue, process, data integrity and system troubleshooting and resolution.  Partners with Sr. Benefits Analyst and Sr. Benefits Manager and key stakeholders to support strategic benefit related decisions.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Day to day administration of Sleep Number's leave and disability programs, including but not limited to developing and maintaining processes, communications, and serving as the leave and disability administration subject matter expert while collaborating both internally and externally. 
  • Optimize Workday Benefits functionality via testing and troubleshooting in partnership with HR Operations team   
  • Process and seek efficiencies in various benefit and system related events such as invoice processing and reconciliation, life insurance evidence of insurability and claims, qualifying events, disability payments, tuition reimbursement and relocation requests 
  • Develop, communicate and partner with team members, HRBPs, vendor partners and other internal stakeholders. Examples of communication to team members include the leave of absence process/cycle, new hire welcome emails, terminated team member communications etc.  
  • Act as a subject matter expert to the HR Service Center to resolve escalated benefit inquiries from team members  
  • Perform audits to ensure data and billing integrity, ensure findings are resolved and communicated to key stakeholders 

Position Requirements  

  • 3 to 5 years of benefits experience 
  • Proficiency with HRIS/Benefits systems  
  • Leave administration and disability experience  
  • Experience with Workday, GL process a plus 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Proficiency with HRIS/Benefits systems  
  • Knowledge of leave and disability programs 
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of current benefit related governmental regulations 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet competing deadlines, handle multiple priorities and work independently 
  • Excellent oral and written communication, collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking skills 
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
