Position Purpose 

Associate planners are responsible for experts in ad platforms, media channels and assigned duties.  They are required to execute and continually adjust their team’s media strategy within their platform while driving strong performance. Ultimately, they focus on driving strong business results through website and store traffic

Primary Responsibilities

Channel mastery: develops depth and competency in a specific media channel showing curiosity for holistic strategic vision

  • Planning tasks
    • Writes and executes briefs, works closely with applicable partners and Planner/Sr. Planner/Manager
    • Responsible for evaluating opportunity within channel and taking ownership of tactical recommendations and optimizations
    • Studies demographic data and consumer profiles to identify and buy against desired target audiences within the specific media channel, including lifestyles and psychographics
    • Recommends and collaborates on creative best practices and execution
  • In-platform
    • Responsible for planning and execution of a channel budget up to $1,000,000
    • Working knowledge and technical aptitude to effectively execute tasks in appropriate platforms (e.g. Kenshoo, Google, Workfront, trafficking documents)
    • Participate and enforce key business enhancements in relation to tagging, trafficking, creative rotation, dynamic capabilities, third-party verification and compliance and all other ad ops related functions
  • Reporting, analytics, insights
    • Provides accurate data reports and proactively identifies/pursues next steps in channel, collaborates on larger media plan adjustments in partnership with Planner/Sr. Planner/Manager
  • Budget Optimization
    • Responsible for maintaining planning spreadsheets and monthly budget updates for assigned channel duties
    • Executes test/learn plan and teaching out best practices within channel responsibility

Ownership

  • Accountability to consistently/accurately manage and execute in channel budget and support team
  • Supports Planner by executing tasks with agencies/partners

Team dynamics

  • Positively contributes to culture by supporting and engaging with team
  • Engages internal and external cross-channel partners for ongoing training and development
    • Includes leading and developing training for specific channel(s) of responsibility
  • Growth/learning: Participates in industry/marketing community, proactively building experience and network

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications, analytics, economics or related fields
  • Internship or minimum of 1 year of relevant experience:
  • Working knowledge of marketing and/or digital, mobile and social media savvy.  Curious about cultural trends.
  • Problem solving skills: ability to identify challenges, evaluate potential solutions for risk/pitfalls, and independently follow-through on implementing process/actions to resolve
  • Technical and computer skills.  Ability to anticipate issues, troubleshoot and problem solve ad trafficking and technical solutions across the digital ecosystem
  • Analytical skills, including an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Self-organizes, prioritizes work, meets deadlines and works independently
  • Maintains flexible and handle multiple projects/requests with a controlled sense of urgency. Remains calm under pressure
  • Keen attention to detail – awareness of how your work product impacts others
