Accounting Manager

Job Location Minneapolis, Minnesota

Finance business partner for Human Resources, perform planning, budgeting and ad-hoc analysis as needed to support this function.  Responsible for month-end close activities and partnering with leadership to provide information needed to help manage business.

Business process owner and subject matter expert for Company’s end to end order to cash process.  Financial expert for the order to cash and receivables processes for cross functional projects. Manage all operational activities related to the Accounts Receivable function, to include billing, cash settlement & application, account reconciliation, customer disputes & resolution, analysis of receivable balances, processes & controls, month-end close, and audit support.  Responsible for supervision, training and development of AR staff. 

Develop, communicate and maintain corporate finance accounting policies/procedures, assist with ICFR controls and processes, manage SOC1 reporting and review process for relevant systems.  SOXHUB administrator for month end checklist and backup for other areas as needed.

Oversee supply chain financing initiative, oversee implementation, socialize project, work closely with supply chain to identify suppliers to improve Company’s working capital.  Point person to reach out to identified suppliers and explain benefits to obtain buy in and on board suppliers.

Assist with month-end close, and other activities and projects as directed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own and ensure compliance with all respective business process controls (ICFR)
  • Evaluate transactions, research as needed to provide recommendations and implement appropriate accounting and business solutions.Must be able to collaborate effectively with IT, Order Management, Customer Service and others to implement systems, business controls and processes/procedures to achieve objectives.
  • Drive development of financial system improvements to eliminate manual processes and improve financial controls.
  • Support external and internal auditors during quarterly reviews, audits and ICFR testing.Assist Director of Accounting with managing ICFR controls and processes as needed

Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • Requires 5-10 years of accounting experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years supervisory/management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (GAAP knowledge required)
  • Proven record of driving process improvements and development of personnel
  • CPA or MBA preferred

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Broad understanding of Accounting and IT systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Proven record of driving process improvements and development of personnel.
  • Strong leadership and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, positive attitude
